About Asia Trade Partners

A cross-border operations consultancy for UK companies sourcing, manufacturing or coordinating supply across Asia.

We are brought in when commercial growth depends on suppliers delivering consistent quality, capacity and communication across distance, language and time zones. That dependency rarely fails all at once. It shows up as a schedule that slips, a specification that drifts, or a question that takes a week to answer, and by the time it is visible in the numbers the volume has usually already been committed.

How we work

Who we work with

We work with boards, operations leaders and product teams.

A board needs a defensible view of exposure before it commits to a growth plan. An operations leader needs to know where capability genuinely sits rather than where it is reported to sit. A product team needs suppliers who can hold specification and schedule while a product moves or scales. Those are three different questions about the same supply base, and they are usually asked at the same time.

What we do

We evaluate operating readiness, structure supplier development plans, support production transfers, and define practical protocols for decisions, changes and escalation.

The work is deliberately concrete. An assignment ends with responsibilities assigned to named people, the evidence each stage has to produce written down, and a sequence both organisations have agreed to follow. What we hand over should still be in use long after we have finished.

What we are not

Asia Trade Partners is not a customs broker, a freight forwarder or a commission-based buying agent. We do not move your goods and we do not take a margin on what you buy.

Our role is to improve how client and supplier organisations work together, ensuring responsibilities and evidence are clear before volumes increase. That independence matters: the advice is the product, so there is nothing else for it to serve.

Typical assignments

Four situations account for most of the work we are asked to do.

  • A strategic supplier

The relationship matters enough that failure would be felt commercially, and nobody can say with confidence what the supplier can sustain.

  • A new manufacturing location

Production is moving to a site with no track record with your business, and the assumptions behind the decision have not been tested on the ground.

  • A troubled product transfer

A transfer has stalled, and quality or schedule is slipping between two organisations working to different assumptions about what happens next.

  • An over-concentrated supply chain

Too much volume depends on a single supplier or a single country, and the exposure has never been quantified in terms the board can act on.

Discuss an assignment

If one of those situations describes where you are, tell us what is happening and we will tell you whether we can help. We reply within one business day.
