Privacy, Cookies and Terms

Asia Trade Partners Limited is a cross-border operations consultancy for UK companies sourcing, manufacturing or coordinating supply across Asia. We are registered as a company in England and Wales.

We are the controller of the personal information collected through this website, which means we decide why and how it is used. If you have a question about this notice, or about how we handle your information, you can reach us through our contact page.

Information you give us

When you submit the enquiry form we collect your company name, first and last name, email address and telephone number, the enquiry type you select and the description you write. The company address field is optional.

We use this to respond to your enquiry and, if it leads to an engagement, to run that engagement. We do not use it for marketing unless you separately ask us to.

Information collected automatically

If you accept non-essential cookies, Google Analytics collects information about how the site is used: pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. We use this to understand which pages are useful and to improve them. We do not use it to identify you and we do not use it for advertising.

If you decline, Google Analytics runs in a restricted mode that sets no cookies and does not identify you or your device.

What we do not collect

This website does not take payments, does not host user accounts, and carries no advertising or social media tracking. We do not ask for special category data, and you should not include it in the enquiry form.

Under UK data protection law we must have a lawful basis for each use of your personal information.

Cookies are small files placed on your device by a website. Local storage does a similar job but is not sent to the server with each request. Both are covered by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, and we treat them the same way.

When you first visit we ask whether you accept non-essential cookies. Nothing non-essential is set unless you accept. The record of your choice is essential and is stored either way, so that we do not have to ask again on every page.

Changing your choice

You can change your mind at any time. Reopening the banner lets you accept or decline again, and the change takes effect immediately without reloading the page.

Cookie settings

You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential storage may stop parts of this site working as intended.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We share it only with:

• Google, as the provider of Google Analytics, and only if you accept non-essential cookies
• Our website hosting and email providers, who handle the information only so far as they need to in order to run the site and deliver our messages
• Professional advisers, such as our accountants or solicitors, where they need it to advise us
• Regulators or law enforcement, where we are legally required to disclose it

Where a supplier processes personal information on our behalf, we have a written contract requiring them to protect it and to use it only on our instructions.

We work with suppliers and clients across Asia, and some of the services we use are provided from outside the UK. Google Analytics in particular may process information outside the UK.

Where personal information is transferred outside the UK, we make sure it stays protected to a UK standard by relying on the safeguards recognised under UK data protection law. Depending on the country involved, that means either UK adequacy regulations or contractual protections approved for international transfers.

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it.

• Enquiries that do not lead to work: kept for a limited period, so that we can pick the conversation back up if you return to us, and then deleted
• Records relating to an engagement: kept for as long as we have a legal, tax or professional reason to hold them after the engagement ends
• Analytics data: kept for the retention period configured in Google Analytics
• Your cookie choice: until you clear your browser storage

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
• Ask us to delete information we no longer need
• Ask us to restrict how we use it
• Object to us using it where we rely on legitimate interests
• Ask us to transfer it to you or another provider in a portable format
• Withdraw your consent to analytics at any time, using the cookie settings above

To exercise any of these, get in touch through our contact page and tell us which right you want to use. We will respond within one month. There is no charge unless a request is clearly unfounded or excessive.

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, and we limit access to those who need it.

No transmission over the internet is completely secure. Please do not send confidential commercial information, such as supplier pricing or specifications, through the enquiry form. We will agree a secure route with you before you send anything sensitive.

These terms govern your use of this website. By using the site you accept them. They do not govern any consultancy engagement, which is covered by a separate written agreement.

Using this website

We provide this site free of charge and may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it without notice. You may not use it in any way that is unlawful, or that damages or interferes with it.

No advice

The content of this site is general information about our services. It is not professional, commercial or legal advice, and it does not take account of your circumstances. Do not act on it without taking advice specific to your situation.

Intellectual property

We own or are licensed to use the content of this site, including text, graphics and logos. You may view it and print or download extracts for your own use. You may not reproduce or republish any part of it commercially without our written permission.

Where we link to other websites we do so for information only. We have no control over their content and accept no responsibility for it.

Our liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be excluded under English law.

Subject to that, we exclude all conditions and warranties implied by law to the fullest extent permitted, and we are not liable for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of data arising from your use of, or inability to use, this site.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

We may update this notice as the site or our practices change. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last changed. Where a change materially affects how we use your personal information, we will take reasonable steps to tell you.
